About the Teacher:
My name is Adriana Lozano. This is my 14th year of teaching. I graduated from ASU in 2003 with a major in English and a minor in Spanish. I'm an Arizona native, so naturally, I'm an Arizona Cardinal fan. I enjoy teaching and learning from my students every day. There is no bigger satisfaction than seeing my students evolved block by block and year by year.
Student Expectations:
In my classes, students will have the opportunity to practice responsible behaviors that will prepare them for the real world. They will learn that positive behaviors produce positive results while negative behaviors result in negative consequences. Below are a few expectations to help guide students.
Student Expectations:
I have three basic rules that will guide students to success in this class.
1. Respect yourself and others.
2. Appropriate behaviors at appropriate times.
3. Everyone must do everything every day.
Absences:
If you are absent, you may make up all work for full credit if done and flexed by the Friday as the week you missed. Any work turned in after is worth half credit or less. The appropriate time to see me for make-up work is on Fridays or by visiting my teacher web site (mrs-lozano.weebly.com). Late work will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Tardy Policy:
Tardiness is unacceptable for me; therefore it is unacceptable for you. For every three times you are late and waste my time, I get to waste a period of your time. You'll work in the classroom on missing assignments, organizing, cleaning, etc. to make up your tardies. If you do not complete your time, you will not receive credit for the class.
Availability:
Any students who need extra help may come in Fridays from 8:00 - 3:30. I am also available to answer any parent questions or concerns. I may also be emailed at [email protected] or [email protected].

Student Expectations:
- Come to class, on time, every day. Be prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally.
- Have paper, pencils/pens, your binder, and any completed assignments you may need to turn in.
- Refrain from use or display of all electronic devices and apparatus. If I suspect electronic use is a problem, you'll owe me time after school, or if necessary, you will be referred to the office.
- No food or drink. The exception is water in a screw-top, spill-proof container. If you have a medical reason which requires you to eat or drink something other than water, please provide medical documentation.
- Bathroom break: You must have your ID, and get scanned. Again, if you have a medical need, please submit the appropriate documentation.
- Use class and school technology on a regular basis to be more successful. Scroll down for helpful links.
